Chapter 2:

It’s incredible weight letting me down without a breath, is it going to kill me? No, I will not go down without a fight. This creature will not kill me so easily. I kicked at it but it doesn’t seem to do anything to the creature, it’s face came close to me so close that it’s eyes were looking directly into mine. For a second it’s eyes looked almost human until it’s face hid under my chin forcing it up, it kept there smelling me, smelling my neck. A noise came from far away like someone was yelling, the creature stopped, I sure was close to being bitten by a gigantic creature. The creature lifted its face from my neck; I could see it’s really sharp and white teeth gleaming in the faint light. It howled hanging its tail very rigid as if someone had caught it in the act of killing me. Someone came from far away; it’s difficult to see who it is and the only thing I know is that it’s human. A man came into view, he had brown hair falling to his shoulders, blue eyes and he was wearing a blue shirt with brown pants.
“You have disappointed me.” The man said.
Now I could see what was happening, a giant dog with light brown fur is on top of me with the weight of its paws forcing me down with my back on the cold and hard sidewalk. The dog looked at the man but it didn’t get off of me. The man came closer. The dog began to howl, the weight was reducing and the dog was changing slowly until a boy not older than seventeen was standing over me. The boy had brown hair, white skin and grayish hazel eyes, all together making a spectacular face but that didn’t lessen the fact that this boy was about to kill me. I’m confused, this boy was a giant dog? How is it possible?


“I’m sorry, Uncle Leo.” The boy said.
“Sorry doesn’t solve all your problems now, you attacked her and you changed into your human form in front of her.” Leo said.
“What should I do?” The boy’s voice sounded ashamed.
“Get her to see Alonso, I’ll get a car, wait here.” Leo said walking away.


The boy turned his attention to me, he let go of me, standing up. I got up thinking: If I scream would anyone hear me? I waited for him to say something but he didn’t.
“Who and what are you?” I whispered.


“I’m what would humans call a werewolf. My name is Joseph Evans, what’s your name?” The boy said.

“I’m April.” I said shyly.


Joseph looked around when a car came in front of us, he lifted me up into his strong arms trying to get me into the car while Leo opened the door for him. They’re going to take me away! I screamed as hard as I could. Joseph put me inside the car and got in with me, Leo closed the door behind us.


“Calm her down.” Leo said getting the engine started.


“How do I do that?” Joseph asked.

“I don’t know.” said Leo.
Joseph started saying things like: “It’s all going to be okay!” And other things I didn’t hear because it’s hard to hear when you’re trying to open a door but can’t, you start screaming and you get frustrated. Finally, I managed to calm down a little bit. Leo gave Joseph a surprise look and looked at me.
“What?” Joseph asked.
“I’m surprised that you are not wearing clothes in front of this lady. Please show some respect and put on some clothes.” Leo said looking at us through the rear view mirror.
“Where’s the clothes?” Joseph asked.
“At the back of the car.” Leo stopped the car, Joseph got down of the car closing the door behind him. “I apologize for my nephew’s bad manners, I’m Leo and you are?” He continued.
“April.” My voice sounded weak.


“Don’t worry, April.” Leo reassured me.
Joseph got into the car, Leo started the engine and driven away. Joseph was wearing black jeans and a white shirt that instead of being buttoned up it was opened showing his white muscular chest. I examined his chest carefully not missing any visual detail, from his chest I moved to his neck slowly looking up until I reached his face. His light brown hair is messy, some hairs standing up and others covering his forehead. I looked into his eyes again, he was looking straight into my eyes, I looked away embarrassed because he caught me almost drooling over him. I hope he didn’t notice that the only thing stopping me from drooling is that I had my mouth closed.


We passed some unfamiliar streets, stopping at a white normal looking house. Where are we? Leo turned off the engine and got down to open the door for us. Joseph grabbed me by my upper part of the arm, got down pulling me, walked toward the door and ringed the bell. Finally a man with dark skin, brown hair and eyes came out of the house. He stood there awkwardly, with one hand on the door and the other one on its frame.


“Welcome, your visit is unexpected.” The man smiled.
“Greetings Alonso, we come to ask a favor of you.” Leo said.
Alonso was about to ask what happened but Joseph answered.


“I accidentally attacked this human and then changed into my human form in front of her.” Joseph said moving aside to let Alonso see me.


“What do you want me to do?” Alonso asked.


“Find something or someone that can erase that from her memory.” Leo explained.


“Okay but I need time for that, I’ll call you tomorrow morning.” Alonso said entering the house and closing the door behind him.


We walked to the car without a single word and Joseph got me in with one hand. Without looking at us Leo got into the car, started the engine and kept driving. Leo driven fast passing the streets until he suddenly stopped at a gate, the gate was closed but he used a beeper to open it. We entered the gate, kept driving at some drive way where there were bushes all over the sidewalk. Now, a big house came slowly into view separated into two houses but united by a small hall. Leo stopped in front of the big house, getting down to open the door for us and he stood there opening it.


“Where are we?” I asked.


“This is my house.” Leo answered.


“Why am I here? I need to go to my house, they'll freak if they notice that I’m gone.” I said.

“You can’t go home knowing what I am, you have to stay here with us a couple of days.” Joseph answered.

“And as for your parents, can you call them and make an excuse that you’re staying with a friend.” Leo answered.
“Sure.” I said. I got my phone out and dialed my house number. It rang but no one did pick it up so I gave up.
Joseph and Leo were still waiting for me; I waved my hand to tell them to lead the way. I kept beside Joseph while Leo was in front of us passing a garden full of different plants; the steps to the house and the white door of it in front of us now.
